It was only fitting that a group of future splashers were the ones to break the ground for the Lohrville Spray Pad on Monday, June 22. Armed with shovels and big smiles, these ambitious youngsters helped mark the beginning of a project that has been years in the making. The children who turned the first spades of dirt will also be among the first to enjoy the train-themed spray pad when it opens, creating memories in a space designed especially for them.
While organizers and fundraisers acknowledge that additional funds are still needed to fully complete the project, they remain confident that the community's long-standing support will carry the spray pad across the finish line. Moving forward with construction reflects the faith Lohrville Visions has in the generosity and commitment of local residents, businesses, and supporters. Behind the scenes, plans are being carefully reviewed and refined by local builders, electricians, excavators, and other skilled professionals whose expertise is helping transform this dream into reality. With construction now underway, excitement continues to build as the long-awaited project moves from vision to reality. If all goes according to plan, these future splashers will be cooling off and playing at the Lohrville Spray Pad in just a few short months, enjoying a new community attraction that honors Lohrville's rich railroad heritage while investing in its future.
Those wishing to contribute to the project and help ensure its successful completion can make donations to Lohrville Visions through Venmo or PayPal, or by contacting Melissa Kinney for additional information on supporting the effort.
