About Us
Calhoun County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) provides assistance to existing business and industry, prospective business and industry, entrepreneurs, local chamber/development organizations, city offices, and non-profit organizations in Calhoun County.
CCEDC has also formed a close working relationship with neighboring counties and many area organizations within the region to enhance the development potential of Northwest Iowa and can serve as a local link for most local, state and federal assistance programs.
Mission
The Calhoun County Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit organization formed to undertake a unified economic development effort within the county. Assistance is provided to community organizations in their pursuit of local development efforts.
In addition, the mission of the CCEDC is to enhance business retention, start-up and growth, so as to increase both employment opportunities and the tax base. The organization also devotes resources to improve quality of life and to promote the county as a desirable place to live.
Meet Executive Director, Theresa Hildreth
Theresa Hildreth became Executive Director for Calhoun County Economic Development Corp. in June of 2023. Before joining CCEDC, Hildreth worked in business marketing, healthcare marketing, county government, state government, coaching, community development and special event execution. In addition, she has served as a clerk in the Iowa Senate during the past ten legislative sessions.
Hildreth grew up in O’Brien County, Iowa, on a farm outside of Gaza. After graduating from Sutherland High School, she later continued her education as a non-traditional student at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, where she earned an associate degree in mass communications. She and her husband, Tom, a Calhoun County native, have lived and worked in Calhoun County since 1987. The Hildreth family owns and operates a 70-year small business in Rockwell City. Hildreth and her husband have four children and 12 grandchildren.
